Many people ask that "can I just play iPod iTunes music video movie on Windows Media Player?", the answer is "Yes" as long as you have a right DRM removal & media converter. Actually, once you get to an appropriate media converter, you can even play music video movie from Windows Media Player on iPod or iTunes the same. Here this tutorial is going to tell you how and why.

Why can't you play iPod iTunes music video movie on Windows Media Player

1. iTunes music video movie has DRM (Digital Rights Management) which attempts to control use of digital media by preventing access, copying or conversion by users to other formats or players. (Files with DRM restrictions are generally obtained from Subscription Services and must be updated periodically to have the License revalidated. Upon expiring, the files will prompt to "please sync to continue your music subscription" when selected on the MP3 player.)

2 . iTunes iPod music, video, movie are in unique formats that can't be recognized by Windows Media Player. As you might know, iTunes iPod music is in AAC (DRM'ed .m4p and non-DRM .m4a) format, video and movie are in DRM-protected .m4v or .mov formats, while WMP plays .wma, .mp3 audio and .wmv, .avi ,.mp4 video.

How to play iPod iTunes music video movie on Windows Media Player

Now you might know the reason why I referred "a right DRM media converter" at the begining, we need it to remove DRM and convert file format.

1. Aimersoft Media Converter is one of such "DRM media converters" needed here. Download the free version, install and launch it just as what you do with other software, then you go to the main interface as the picture shows bellow:

2. There you see the "Add" button in red circle to import DRM'ed iPod iTunes media files, or you can just drag-and-drop them to the main window directly. Then go to Setting in red circle to preset the target output effect you want including file format (.wma and .wmv is recommended), bit rate, frame rate, aspect ratio, resolution etc

3. When finish the effect presetting, back to the main window, click Start button lower-right pos itioned to convert iPod music video movie to Windows Media Player. Time of conversion varies according to the file size, generally a 15 Mb album costs 2-3 mins.

4. Then you get DRM-free .wma .wmv out of iPod iTunes music video movie to play on WMP. As what was sated previously, this DRM Media Converter can help to convert Windows Media Audio & Video to iPod iTunes playable MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, FLAC music or MP4, M4V, MOV video vice versa --- whether they are protected by Microsofts Plays for Sure DRM system or just plain .wma .wmv files. Then you can sync Windows Media Audio & Video to iPod as what you do from iTunes to iPod.

While now you see, playing iTunes iPod music video movie on Windows Media Player is just as easy as syncing Windows Media Audio & Video to iPod iTunes as long as you have the access to a helpful DRM media converter.

You might also like to check for even more How-To transfer the DRM protected music, video, movie to media devices like iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, Xbox 360, PS3, Creative Zen, Archos, Sansa, Iriver, Samsung, Cowon, Sony Walkman, as well as mobile phones like HTC, Blackberry, Sony Erricsson, LG, Nokia, Motorola, etc.

PsP handhelds is one of most fun ways to play games, watch movies and listen to music. PsP software downloads are just some things that you can do to improve your psp. PsP software downloads are fun and easy.

There are many places on the net were one can find psp software downloads. Some sites have you pay per download and sometimes charge up to a couple dollars for each download. Other sites require a membership and a monthly fee were user share files. This method sometimes can be frustrating when you are in the middle of a download and the user signs off before the download is complete.

I prefer to use sites that have a onetime membership for psp music, psp movie, psp games and psp software downloads. The best sites have their databases jammed pack with over a million songs, movies, games, and software available for downloading. Some of these sites have no limit to the amount of downloads you do per day.

There are some sites were the database does not have quality psp movies, psp music and psp software downloads and they might be very slow to download. I have placed a link at the top of this site for a one that has quality psp music downloads, psp movies, psp games and psp software downloads. You may want to check it out.

Once you have downloaded some psp music, psp movies and games you can take them anywhere you go. This is great when you have places to go or have long travel times to get somewhere. It really helps to pass the time away, while your having fun either listening to psp music or watching a psp movie or just playing a new game. There are so many games available you should never run out of games to play music to listen to and movies to watch.

Make sure that what ever site you choose either comes with a money back guarantee in case your not satisfied with their database of music songs games and software. I have been using the above site for over three months and never had the need to ask for my money back. I now have so many psp software downloads, psp movies, music and games downloaded that I often find it hard to decide which game to play, song to listen to, or movie to watch. If you're wise and make the right choice you will be having fun all day long with your psp.

So far the best site I have tried is PsP Blender. I have put a link at the top of my site so you can check it out. Come back and visit my site. I will be posting some reviews on software sites.

Please visit some of my other sites PsP Software and PsP Software Downloads

This year, Lady Gaga won the eight MTV Video Music Awards. The 11.4 millions audiences rating of this year is higher than that of last year just because one lady and one dress. That's Lady Gaga and her meat dress.

There are so many argumentations about her dress online, such as Lady Gaga's Meat Dress: Offensive or Awesome? But Lady Gaga herself admitted that this dress has itself symbolic meaning. She said that the dress doesn't show any disrespect to vegetarians. You know, I am not afraid of being judged. But tonight, for me, if we don't stand up for our belief, if we don't stick up for our rights, we will soon be trampled down as the meat. But I am not the meat.

But what's the inspiration of the meat dress? When Lady Gaga contacted with her fashion consultant, they were designed a series of bikini which are made of meat. And Lady Gaga asked them to design her dress by meat. And she will wear the astonishing to attend the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Let's get more details about the meat dress. Lady Gaga's stylist Franc Fernandez answered reporter's questions about the meat dress. The following is a general record of the interview.

Re: What's the final weight of the dress? Fernandez: It is rather heavy, about forty pounds.

Re: Does it bleed? Fernandez: Not at all! The meat was very clean and sturdy. It is a kind of meant for barbecue. It won't lose shape.

Re: Does it have any queer taste? Fernandez: No, it smells very nice, a sweet odor.

Re: Did you use refrigerator to store the dress? Fernandez: It was cold fresh meat when purchased and kept it under refrigeration. The meat dress totally took three days.

Re: Does it go off? Fernandez: Yes, it will dry out instead of becoming putrid, just like dried beef. But it shouldn't be worn again.

Re: How to cut off the dress? Fernandez: They just seamed the dress with needle and thread.
Re: What the feeling when she worn the meat dress? Gaga: At the beginning, she feels a little cold.
Re: How did she put on the dress? Does it need to seam after put on? Fernandez: Yes, She put on it from the below part. And some parts need to be sewn up. I was just behind the scenes.

Will Lady Gaga put the meat dress in storeroom as other dresses? Fernandez: I thought it isn't suitable to keep for long. Actually, she likes the dress very much! She likes new ideas and any changes.

During Hollywood, the meat dress of Lady Gaga was followed by many netizenes. But there are still many people who are against it, such as the chairman of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals thought that this is the symbol of declining for her career. But how do you think about the Lady Gaga's meat dress?

Air Comfort Centre sell three types of humidifier, steam humidifiers, ultrasonic humidifiers and evaporative humidifiers. Your choice will depend on your application, budget and your acceptable level of maintenance.

Humidifiers are needed for many reasons

For people, humidifiers will help to relieve respiratory illnesses in adults and croup in babies, they can stop dry eyes, dry skin and dry throat conditions, help relieve asthma and allergy symptoms and stop feelings of tiredness, in fact humidifiers are often put into offices to improve the productivity and reduce absenteeism.

For objects, humidifiers will protect valuable artworks, furniture and musical instruments from the effects of too low humidity or varying humidity levels which can cause wood and paper to expand and contract which causes splits, they will also help musical instrument such as pianos and harps to stay in tune. Humidifiers are often used in office buildings to reduce static which can damage computers and servers.

Humidifiers add water to the air by either boiling water and thereby creating steam which is absorbed into the air, or by releasing very fine wisps of moisture by vibrating crystals at a specific frequency which breaks water molecules up and releases them (Ultrasonic) or by passing air through a wetted media so that the air picks up water through the moistened surface through which air is blown.

We will examine each type in turn so that you may be able to decide which the best type is for you.

Steam humidifiers

Steam humidifiers provide hygienic humidity control as the process of heating water to steaming point kills all bacteria and germs so that the moisture released is sterile.

In the home a steam humidifier is the ideal choice for anyone with a respiratory illness, for ensuring there is sufficient humidity in a nursery or for combating the symptoms of croup in babies. The steam humidifier can be used i n conjunction with essential oils. Steam humidifiers are very quiet.

This type of humidifier is usually economical to buy in comparison with other humidifiers. Units that incorporate a humidistat can cost a bit more but have the advantage of not over-humidifying a room.

A disadvantage of using a steam humidifier is that they consume more electrical energy than an ultrasonic or evaporative humidifier.

The maintenance of a steam humidifier will involve occasionally removing the lime scale that builds up inside the unit. When not in use steam humidifiers should be emptied of water, cleaned and dried to prevent water stagnating inside the humidifier.

Steam humidifiers such as Carel as commonly used in office buildings to reduce static and make the air more comfortable to breathe, usually they are installed into the air conditioning ductwork, although more expensive to run than the other two types, they have the advantage due to the exceptional control and for hygiene reasons

Ultrasonic humidifiers

This is the most common type of humidifier you will find in the high street.Anultrasonic humidifier has a reservoir of water on top of a small metal plate coated in very small crystals, when a level of 48 Volts is passed through the crystals they begin to vibrate, the intense vibrations caused by the rapidly oscillating plateatomises the water into an airborne mist.

The advantages of buying an ultrasonic humidifier is that as well as being economical to buytheyalso consume little energy when operating. The vapour produced is very fine, almost cloudlike. Ultrasonic humidifiers are extremely quiet.

The major disadvantage of using an ultrasonic humidifier is the dust that it introduces to a room. Any particulate matter that is present in the water will become airborne along with the water. When the water evaporates, the particulate matter will settle as dust in the room.

However, high quality ultrasonic humidifiers use demineralisation cartridges that absorb the minera ls from the water prior to it being turned into a mist. This is very effective as long as the cartridges are replaced inline with the manufacturers instructions.

If your humidifier does not include a demineralisation cartridge then you should use demineralised water, as over time the mineral content of the water will coat the ultrasonic crystals which stops them working.

It is very important to clean your humidifier out regularly when is use to prevent the build up of bacteria.

Evaporative humidifiers

Evaporative humidifiers get water into the air by allowing moisture to be simply evaporated. This consumes very little energy and is a hygienic way of humidifying as there are no aerosol sprays being released. Any particulate matter present in the water will remain in the humidifier after the water evaporates so no dust is released into the room.

This type of system is also very quiet so can be used in a bedroom or similar quiet area.

Evaporative humidifiers use porous filter media which adsorbs water and the air is forced through the filter by a fan, as the air flows through the wet filter media it picks up water and becomes optimally humidified. You cannot over humidify a room with this method, as the humidity gets closer to 50%rH the air will collect less and less water.

This is the best type of humidifier to use to protect artworks, furniture and musical instruments, this is often the type museums will buy to protect their exhibits.

The main disadvantage with this type of unit is that the filters need to be cleaned or replaced regularly. The air in a home can be quite polluted with dust, skin, hair and other matter. These particles will be collected by the humidifier and remain on the filter as the air passes through. This has the advantage of cleaning the air but does mean the filters need replacing occasionally they may develop an odour and become unhygienic.

Cleaning will need to be carried out regularly to maintain hygienic operation but the frequency will depend on the air quality in the room.

Early life

Anna Akhmatova in 1914

Akhmatova was born at Bolshoy Fontan in Odessa to Andrey Antonovich Gorenko and Inna Erazmovna Stogova. Her childhood does not appear to have been happy; her parents separated in 1905. She was educated in Tsarskoe Selo (where she first met her future husband, Nikolay Gumilyov) and in Kiev. Anna started writing poetry at the age of 11, inspired by her favourite poets: Racine, Pushkin, and Baratynsky. As her father did not want to see any verses printed under his "respectable" name, she chose to adopt the surname of her Tatar grandmother as a pseudonym. Many of the male Russian poets of the time declared their love for Akhmatova; she reciprocated the attentions of Osip Mandelstam, whose wife, Nadezhda Mandelstam, would eventually forgive Akhmatova in her autobiography, Hope Against Hope.

In 1910, she married the poet, Nikolay Gumilyov, who very soon left her for lion hunting in Africa, the battlefields of World War I, and the society of Parisian grisettes. Her husband did not take her poems seriously, and was shocked when Alexander Blok declared to him that he preferred her poems to his. Their son, Lev, born in 1912, was to become a famous Neo-Eurasianist historian.

Silver Age

Anna Akhmatova with her husband Nikolay Gumilev and son, Lev Gumilev, 1914

In 1912, she published her first collection, entitled Evening. It contained brief, psychologically taut pieces which English readers may find distantly reminiscent of Robert Browning and Thomas Hardy. They were acclaimed for their classical diction, telling details, and the skilful use of colour.

By the time her second collection, The Rosary, appeared in 1914, there were thousands of women composing poems "in honour of Akhmatova." Her early poems usually picture a man and a woma n involved in the most poignant, ambiguous moment of their relationship. Such pieces were much imitated and later parodied by Nabokov and others. Akhmatova was prompted to exclaim: "I taught our women how to speak, but don't know how to make them silent".

Together with her husband, Akhmatova enjoyed a high reputation in the circle of Acmeist poets. Her aristocratic manners and artistic integrity won her the titles "Queen of the Neva" and "Soul of the Silver Age," as the period came to be known in the history of Russian poetry. Many decades later, she would recall this blessed time of her life in the longest of her works, "Poem Without a Hero" (194065), inspired by Pushkin's Eugene Onegin.

Saint Anne Mosaic, Marian Year 1954, by Boris Anrep

Mosaics in Ireland and England

Following the breakup of her marriage, Akhmatova had an affair with the mosaic artist and poet Bori s Anrep (1883 - 1969) during World War I; at least 34 of her poems are about him. He in turn created mosaics in which she features. In the Cathedral of Christ the King Mullingar, Anrep mosaic of Saint Anne is spelt Anna. Additionally, the saint image bears an uncanny resemblance to that of Akhmatova in her mid-20s.

Anrep also depicted Akhmatova in a mosaic entitled Compassion, located in the National Gallery in London.

The accursed years

Nikolay Gumilyov was prosecuted in 1921 and subsequently executed for activities considered anti-Soviet; Akhmatova then married a prominent Assyriologist Vladimir Shilejko; at the same time she began affairs with the composer Arthur Louri, who set many of her poems to music, and the theatre director Mikhail Zimmerman. She then married an art scholar, Nikolay Punin, who died in the Stalinist Gulag camps. After that, she spurned several proposals from the married poet, Boris Pasternak.

After 1922, Akhmatova was condemned as a bourgeois element[citation needed] and was rarely published between 1923 and 1930. She earned her living by translating Leopardi and publishing essays, including some brilliant essays on Pushkin, in scholarly periodicals. All of her friends either emigrated or were repressed.

Only a few people in the West suspected that she was still alive, when she came out with a collection of new poems in 1940. During World War II, when she witnessed the nightmare of the 900-Day Siege, her patriotic poems found their way to the front pages of Pravda. After Akhmatova returned to Leningrad following the Central Asian evacuation in 1944, she was distressed by "a terrible ghost that pretended to be my city."

Upon learning about Isaiah Berlin's visit to Akhmatova in 1946, Stalin's associate in charge of culture, Andrei Zhdanov, publicly labelled her "half harlot, half nun", had her poems banned from publication in the journals Zvezda and Leningrad. Her son spent his youth in Stalinist gulags, and she even resorted to publishing several poems in praise of Stalin to secure his release. Their relations remained strained, however.

Although officially stifled, Akhmatova's work continued to circulate in samizdat form and even by word of mouth, as she became a symbol of suppressed Russian heritage.

The thaw

After Stalin's death, Akhmatova's preeminence among Russian poets was grudgingly conceded, even by party officials, and a censored edition of her work was published; conspicuously absent was Requiem, which Isaiah Berlin had predicted in 1946 would never be published in the Soviet Union. Her later pieces, composed in neoclassical rhyme and mood, seem to be the voice of many she has outlived. Her dacha in Komarovo was frequented by Joseph Brodsky and other young poets, who continued Akhmatova's traditions of Saint Petersburg poetry into the 21st century.

In honor of her 75th birthday in 1964, special observances were held and new collections of her verse were published.

Akhmatova got a chance to meet some of her pre-revolutionary acquaintances in 1965, when she was allowed to travel to Sicily and England, in order to receive the Taormina prize and an honorary doctoral degree from Oxford University (she was accompanied by her life-long friend and secretary Lydia Chukovskaya). In 1962, her dacha was visited by Robert Frost. In 1968, a two volume collection of Akhmatova's prose and poetry was published by Inter-Language Literary Associates of West Germany.

Monument to Anna Akhmatova in Saint Petersburg near Kresty Prison

Akhmatova died at the age of 76 in Moscow. She was interred at Komarovo Cemetery.

Akhmatova's reputation continued to grow after her death, and it was in the year of her centenary that one of the greatest poetic monuments of the 20th century, Akhmatova's Requiem, was finally published in her homeland.

There is a museum devoted to Akhmatova at the apartment where she lived with Nikolai Punin at the garden wing of the Fountain House (more properly known as the Sheremetev Palace) on the Fontanka Embankment, where Akhmatova lived fro m the mid 1920s until 1952.

A minor planet 3067 Akhmatova discovered by Soviet astronomers Lyudmila Karachkina and Lyudmila Zhuravlyova in 1982 is named after her.

Examples of poetry

Grey-Eyed King (1910)

Hail to thee, o inconsolate pain!

The young grey-eyed king has been yesterday slain.

That autumn evening was stuffy and red.

My husband, returning, had quietly said,

"He'd left for his hunting; they carried him home;

They found him under the old oak's dome.

I pity his queen. He, so young, passed away!...

And overnight all her black hair turned grey."

He picked up his pipe from the fireplace shelf,

And went off to work in the night by himself.

So now my daughter I will wake and rise --

And I will look in her little grey eyes...

And murmuring poplars outside will be heard:

Your king is no longer here on this earth.

Song of the Very Last Meeting (1911)

My chest grew helplessly cold, But my feet were light and deft, I pulled a glove on my right hand- The one that was meant for my left.

It seemed the steps were many, But I knew - there were only three! Amid maples, autumn's whisper Pled softly: "Die with me!

My fate so fickle and evil- Has coldly betray me anew." I answered,"My dearest,my darling Mine too.I will die with you"

The song of the very last meeting. I glanced at the darkened home. In the bedroom the candled were burning With an indifferent, yellowish glow.

My Way (1940)

One goes in straightforward ways,

One in a circle roams:

Waits for a girl of his gone days,

Or for returning home.

But I do go nd woe is there

By a way nor straight, nor broad,

But into never and nowhere,

Like trains ff the railroad.

Courage (1942)

We know what trembles on the scales,

and what we must steel ourselves to face.

The bravest hour strikes on our clocks:

may courage not abandon us!

Let bullets kill use are not afraid,

nor are we bitter, though our housetops fall.

We will preserve you, Russian speech,

from servitude in foreign chains,

keep you alive, great Russian word,

fit for th e songs of our children's children,

pure on their tongues, and free.

They did some small dances through out there career but remained a fixture at the Moss Side Youth club inna UK. They seemed to faze out in the early 90's though.
Black Harmony sound system was a roots sound that played out dances in the 1970's. Its main DJ was Jah Stitch who can be found on many 7" singles from the same time period. This particular sound is NOT to be confused of the one outta the UK from the 1980's.

Black Scorpio is the child of the owner and record label of the same name Jack Scorpio. It started in Kingston and continues to show and prove from time to time in the Dancehall areans. Some of the DJ's who would perform on Black Scorpio are Yellowman, Sassafrass, Barrington Levy, General Trees, Bounty Killer, Johnny Osbourne, and many more.

Black Star formed inna Kingston 6 and ran for about 10 years starting in 1979. Owner, Smokey Don would feature regular DJ's on the set like Brigadier Jerry & Tiger.

So much can be said for Dancehall sound systems and what they advance to the Reggae music world. With out them so many of us would not know some of the artist noticed. They make it possible for us to hear the latest music and find out what's going on in a different part of the world.

D.J is an acronym for Disc jockey. Over time, this acronym came to represent a musical style derived from reggae music. This form of music involves lyrics chanted over a beat. A synopsis of the evolution of Dub music should shed some light on the nature and structure of D.J or Dance Hall music. Dub is derived from the Version, "B'' or flip side of vinyl polymer reggae recordings. The versions had only the instrumental accompaniment of a song. Dub was not a musical arrangement but was formed from studio techniques, which entails the engineers extending the bass and drum patterns making it the main body of the "B" side replacing the vocalist as the center of attention.

Deejays such as Papa Michigan and General Smiley first used the dub section of vinyl polymer records altered by the various studio engineers to chant their lyrics over. This act of chanting is referred to as "Deejaying inna rubba dub style". As time progressed the Deejays laid their own rhythmic patterns to chant over. It was at this point that Deejays acquired the capital letters D.J that represented the newly formed form of music. Later on the term Dance Hall music was also used to represent, and used interchangeable to mean the same musical form.

Features of DJ or Dance Hall music

The lyrics used in the performance of D.J or Dance Hall music are usually of a social, political, economic, and sometimes humorous nature. During the 1990's the lyrical content of many Dance Hall songs took on a sexually explicit overtone or what some people refer to as "Slackness". In addition, they also refer to issues such as apartheid in South Africa and black history. For example Brigadier Jerry- Free Mandela and Ernest Wilson & Briggy - Them Free Mandela Others compose lyrics that exploit female.

On the other hand, performers also used Jamaican proverbs, melodies of Jamaican and Caribbean folks tunes, nursery rhymes used in children's gam es and wise Jamaican sayings for example," A Nu everyting yu du, yu fe mek pickni see''. (Interpretation: It is not wise to allow children to see all that an adult does). They also used the lyrics of American Rhythm and blues, Ballad or pop music and chant these over an accompanying reggae rhythm. For example, Ninja and Tingas remake of the song I believe the children are the future by Whitney Houston.

The use of the voice

Starting from the days of the plantations, repetition has been a main feature of Jamaica's popular music. This element is also one of the main characteristics of D.J or Dance Hall music. The repetitions are usually of single word or phrases. These phrases are repeated at different points throughout the performance and may constitute a chorus. D.J style is considered "half- talk- half sing". The speech pattern is quite rhythmic with syncopation as another feature. Look at the following example which is normally repeated a number of times in the song.

All an / pull up selector now / come down entertainer/ all an pull up selector now/ Come

Down entertainer.

Most times, "nonsense" words are used to fill in when there is a break in the instrumental accompaniment. Other times, high pitch "siren" sounds focusing in the nasal region or low pitches that are sounded in the throat are utilised. Another use of the voice within this musical form is the sliding effect that can be heard in some D.J pieces. These sliding sounds can also be used as" fill-in", also, rhyming of words has also become a feature of D.J music. However this is not unique to D.J but also appears in other folk forms in Jamaica and the Caribbean. The overall style of speaking in D.J or Dance Hall music is a mixture of English and Jamaican Creole.

Vocal Intervals

Ettu is a Jamaican folk form that originated in the parish of Hanover. It is a socio- religious form, where the presence of the ancestral spirit is invited to ensure the success of everyday undertaking. This is done through a ceremony called a "play". The intervals between notes of the songs used in the play are quite close to the tonal center. This type of closeness of pitches to the tonal center is also evident in D.J music. In D.J, there is a tonal center chosen by the performer which often see ms to have no relationship melodically with the accompaniment. The range of pitches used in the Ettu play may not surpass a major 2nd, a major 3rd or a minor 3rd above or below the tonal center.

The question could then be asked, are there filterage or hereditary factors that cause two forms of two different periods to have approximately the same sort of intervallic relationship? One thing that is outstanding is the similarities they do have. The voice is used mainly as a melodic instrument, especially when the performers "redo" American Popular music over a selected reggae rhythmic accompaniment. This kind of integration takes the listeners ears some time to get accustomed to, especially when a chord or melodic line introduced within the accompaniment has no direct link harmonically with the performers tonal center. Rhythm plays a very important part in D.J music and especially in the way the instruments are used.

Instrumentation

D.J music involves the u se of the following instruments: drum set, drum machine, piano, synthesizer, bass and rhythm guitar and now computer software. Sometime sound effects are introduced in D.J pieces. These special effects are normally used during a break in the vocal line. The sounds of bongos and hand claps, and cowbells are sometimes heard; these are produced by electronic means i.e. synthesizer or computer software which have these sound programmed in their memory bank.

In a live performance, either all these instruments are employed or combinations. These instruments are also utilized when a band is laying tracks to accompany the Deejays. The use of these instruments will depend on the creativity and inventiveness of the engineer involved in the production, the wishes of the performer or the leader of the band. Most dancehall music displays a characteristic use of Instruments which retain some of the rhythmic features associated with traditional reggae music.

It's a fact like no other- iPod has catapulted Apple into unbelievable fame and fortune, but are iPod's really that fabulous and everything Apple would like us to believe? Is always important to give due consideration to iPod Advantages and disadvantages before you jump into an actual investment. At first glance, the iPod's appearance is dashing and the sound of high quality. Question is however, is it really the best-looking mp3 player available? Well, the answer will depend entirely upon your individual taste. The other question you should ask yourself is- is it the best sounding one? Mmm, the answer will also depend on what your standards of quality are. One thing that's sure is with competitors out there like Sony and Creative, you really have to pull up your socks and ensure you have excellent sound quality ratings when compared to the competition, which have been in the sound business for years. Is this another one of Apple's gimmicks? Have a look at my list of iPod advantages and disadvantages and judge for yourself...

Program access- The addition of the iTunes program is a great feature, there is not two ways about that. There is however also a disadvantage to iTunes and it comes in the form of being the only way to interact with iPod. Other mp3 players are easily accessed directly from your computer's "My Computer" folder, just as if you were accessing your flash, C or D drives. This fact alones makes iPod extremely limited in terms of what it can do. This also makes the use of Apple an essential intermediary for media transferring to and from their product.

Only play iTunes purchases- The greatest disadvantage to Apple iPod's is most probably its FairPlay DRM protection. The program only allows songs purchased trough iTunes to be played on the device, or on a specific computer if purchase of the songs were made from a computer. Should you decide to invest in another brand mp3 player, all your iTune-purchased so ngs will be unplayable and thus of absolute no value. It's just Apple's way of keeping you loyal to their product. If any other large technology company tried this stunt, it would get trashed and probably crucified by public opinion.
iTunes incompatibility with other mp3 player software- Prefer to use Windows Media Player or Winamp? Well, it's a fact they are a lot quicker and less tiring than iTunes! Unfortunately you can't! FairPlay DRM protection on downloaded songs only allows for songs to be played in iTunes or on your iPod.

Non-replaceable battery- Your iPod purchase comes standard with a non-replaceable battery in other words an internal rechargeable battery. As we all know- rechargeable batteries do not last forever; eventually they will stop holding their charge and should your iPod still be under warranty you have the option to send it to Apple. This will result in you receiving a refurbished iPod with the possibility of not being your, if you are out of warranty, you can just through your US Dollar 300 iPod into the garbage can. Replacement by Apple for an additional US Dollars 100 is another option you have but that is probably what your second-hand iPod will be worth by the t ime the battery's fully charged. Its also important to not that should the battery get depleted you can't spare change it, this should be kept in mind if functionality is essential for long periods of time.

No FM radio function- There are tons of MP3 players that have FM radio functionality with option to save radio recordings in mp3 format, but not Apple ipod! A separate adaptor need to be purchased for this feature and to top it all, the adapter will only work with newer iPod versions and will not allow records.

No storage space- Urgently need to store information but don't have a flash drive or a blank CD with you? Chances are very good that you most likely have your mp3 player. IPod has absolutely no storage space for an emergency transfer of media you've created for example in MS Word. Again, iTunes interaction with the iPod, is to blame for this.

No voice recording function- Have an unexpected voice recording? Many mp3 players will be a ble to assist in an instant, iPod unfortunately not.

No WMA format playback- WMA is a fantastic playback format that gives companies the capability of using DRM and producing files a lot smaller than mp3 format. It's mainly for these reasons that WMA is the preferred choice for ebook publishers. IPod has however chosen to ignore its existence. WMA conversion is a possibility but can be an immense hassle if you have an extensive music collection, to convert each and every song.

Expense- In general iPod's are more expensive when compared to other mp3 players that offer a lot more value for your money in terms of function, quality and overall appearance. By just giving consideration to all the reasons previously stated, you will agree with me that iPods has way more disadvantages than advantages. You will just be paying for the Apple name, and getting less.

Health concerns- iPod also comes with a couple of health concerns. A study recently showe d that iPods can potentially interfere with pacemakers resulting in malfunctions when placed near the heart monitoring device. Is actually scary to think that an iPod could pose a risk to your health. In all fairness however, no other player have probably been tested for this and might have same effect. IPods selection may have been biased for the study due to its extreme popularity. Wait just a second before you start sending me hate mail, its important to bear in mind that I've mainly given consideration to iPod's disadvantages and not its advantages. I am sure there are tons of positive aspects about iPod including battery charge duration and its incredible selection of accessories. When compared to other mp3's players, iPod most certainly has more accessories than any other mp3 players on the market.
